A Breastfeeding Class

Last Thursday i brought along my husband to join a talk on "Persediaan Menyusu semasa mengandung" held at Sarakids. It was surprising to learn many things that i've never know/heard before. Some of the things that surprised me are :

1. Susu alternative yang paling hampir dgn susu ibu ialah.. susu gorilla! what a surprise!!
2. Skin to skin contact can comfort a baby after this, my husband has to go shirtless inside the labor room ;)
3. Crawling of a newborn : the newborn baby can crawl towards breast for milk right after he/she was born. Subhanallah. Kuasa Allah.
4. A well behaved baby is a baby who gets to drink their mother's milk asap, the one who gets the warmth from her parents as early as they could.
5. That we could request from the hospital a list of demand especially when related to breastfeeding our baby.

A lot for me to list down, actually. It is a great opportunity for us to be in the class. especially Puan Farah, the owner of Sarakids, gave to us for free since there was a shooting for Safiyya program. Lucky us!However, i felt terrible that we got to go earlier because my husband has to go to Proton Edar for document submission. If we were able to stay, we might get more info from the group session that was schedule after lunch time, i believe. how i wish that my husband could join the fathers' support group since he never been in any previously. He was also surprised to learn that babies who are teething should be able to be breastfed without hurting their mom.Since i've been to the class, a lot of questions raised upon inside my mind. Later on i want to meet again the sweet and softspoken Puan Farah. sure will do!
Now that I have the motivation, my spirits are pumped up! InsyaAllah, my impian for fully breastfeed my 2nd baby will become reality. and a thing that Farah suggested to me is to try tandem nursing with Lissa and her adik. amiiinnn...
