Mouth Ulcer Treatment for my Toddler

Hi all

Since these few days, Hanie refused to eat or even to drink water or milk. It happened when I was away to Shanghai last Monday.

My mom told me that she refused to ingest anything, until she realized that Hanie got a few mouth ulcer. My mom brought Hanie to a clinic and the doctor gave a sprayed medication. He told my mom that the gell will usually cause discomfort and a bit pain to her, thus he suggested the spray type.

What to do???

I googled the treatment and what cause this mouth ulcer and found this on babycenter

Canker sores, also called mouth ulcers, are rare in children under 10, but it's possible that this is what's causing your toddler's discomfort

It's not really clear what causes canker sores. They tend to run in families, so they appear to have a genetic link. Some people are prone to getting sores when they're under stress.
Yeah, I used to have mouth ulcers almost every month!!
So memang it came from me la, kesian Hanie :(

Canker sores almost always go away on their own, usually in a week to ten days (although large ones can take longer). The pain often subsides in three or four days.
10 days??? These 2-3 days pun tak sanggup tengok dia merana...

In the meantime, don't give your toddler any hot, spicy, or citrus foods. Offer him a straw with his drinks, which may irritate the sore less than drinking from a cup. Ice cubes and cold or frozen foods such as ice pops may help numb the area.
The problem with Hanie is she refused to eat or drink at all!! Yesterday, when i picked her up from daycare, Lissa told me that Hanie didnt eat or drink. So I made a very soft rice podridge from the Beras Bario i bought from Miri last time.
Alhamdulillah, she loves it! I even cooked more for bekal this morning. Hopefully she'll eat some of it.
As for drink, i have to prepare a cup with straw.

You might try a teething gel or cream, but apply it carefully — touching the sore can hurt. For a home remedy, combine 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 1 part water. Dab (gently!) on the canker sore with a cotton swab. Follow by dabbing on a little milk of magnesia. Do this three or four times a day to soothe the area and help it heal.
Nak tengok pun tak boleh. Hanie will shut her mouth and wont show anything to me.

If your toddler seems really uncomfortable, you may want to give him the proper dose of an over-the-counter pain reliever, like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. (Never give your toddler aspirin, which can trigger a rare but deadly disease called Reye's syndrome in children with a viral illness.)
Hanie keeps on asking for the paracetamol. i guess sebab pedih sangat kot.. kesian dia..

Pray for her speedy recovery, all..
Pity her..
