Caloric Content
Each tablespoon of Heinz ketchup contains 20 calories. For someone on a 2,000-calorie-per-day diet, this is equivalent to 1 percent of the total daily calories. While that figure may seem marginal, remember that you may very well be using more than 1 tablespoon of ketchup with your meal.

Fat Content
Heinz ketchup is a fat-free food. Eating the product will not contribute fat -- including saturated fat and trans fats -- or cholesterol to your diet. However, the foods ketchup is traditionally eaten with -- burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings -- typically contain high amounts of fat.

Carbohydrates
Because it contains sweeteners such as high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup, Heinz ketchup does contain a small amount of carbohydrates. Every 1 tablespoon serving contains 5g of carbs, which represents 2 percent of the recommended daily value for someone on a 2,000-calorie diet. The majority of the carbohydrates in Heinz ketchup -- 4g of the 5g -- are sugars.

Sodium
One of the ingredients in Heinz ketchup is salt, so eating it will add to your daily salt intake. Every serving of the ketchup contains 160 mg of salt, which represents 7 percent of the recommended daily value for someone on a 2,000-calorie diet.

Vitamin Content
People generally aren't eating ketchup because of its rich supply of vitamins and minerals, but it does contain small amounts of vitamins A and C. Each tablespoon of Heinz ketchup contains 2 percent of the daily value of both vitamins A and C.
So mommies, dont feel bad if your kids LOVE to eat ketchup.

Confession : Studying for 4 years in the States has changed me to eat ketchup instead of chilli sauce at McDonald. Til now, I dip fries in the ketchup plus black pepper :) (alamak, tengah puasa cakap pasal fries McD..eishh)
