Another "Nur"' was born..
Yes, that was exactly my husband's updates on his Facebook profile on 21st April 2011.
Alhamdulillah. I delivered a baby girl on that day, Thursday 21st April 2011 at 12:16 pm at Shah Alam Specialist Hospital, Section 19, Shah Alam.
One minute after baby was born. A relieved smile |
Everything went smoothly. I went for regular check-up on my 38th week on Wednesday morning. I knew that I would be in labor anytime soon, but somehow surprised when my obg told me that i was already in 4 cm. no wonder the mild contraction i kept on having became stronger. So the obg told me to go home and relax, i'll be in labor very very soon. she expected by midnite, but if not, she asked us to come back tomorrow morning and admit.
The whole night was becoming more intense for me..no, not the contraction, but the nervous, the mix feeling of having to battle inside the labor room. i couldnt sleep well. i keep on waking up every hour, went to bathroom, checking if i had any "show" (or what i used to have before i had Lissa, a bloody show). but nothing. even the contraction, felt like a braxton hicks only..and very mild..
Tomorrow morning, waking up early, we sent Lissa to her babysitter, and went for breakfast. i ate a heavy nasi lemak dish and milo..a preparation for a battle.. went to Shah Alam Specialist Hospital's ward (aka Salam Medical Center), being admitted and waiting for midwife and my obg. The nurses set on the equipment to monitor the baby's heart, and we waited for an hour for the session. At approximately 10 am, the midwife came in and checked on the printing. She was surprised that i didnt have any contraction at all during the monitoring session. So she told that i might not be in labor any soon, but just to be sure, she had to examine me. Surprised!! I will be in labor very very soon. I was at 6 cm that time. In my mind that moment : i want all this to be over soon!
So, the procedure begun...i was directed to the labor room..oh, actually it was a standby room for labor room since both labor rooms were occupied by another patients waiting for delivery. Luckily the standby room is fully equipped with everything. The midwife broke my water, and asked us to just wait... that was when the history began.....
From 10:30 am up to 12:00 pm. the contraction escalated! The pain kept on going intense and more intense. i asked for the painkiller, and specifically asked not to give any epidural..they also provided me the gas.. it was a relieved but still... I am so lucky that my husband was with me all the time. Thank to him, to offer me a foot massage during the pain.. to offer me his hand for me to grab..(oh, sorry babe, i almost cracked ur fingers...)and after my 2nd push, there she was! so little and small.. 2.5 kg.. alhamdulillah..
